I know that djing now has little to do with actual djing but… Tell me something? Do people even listen to music anymore or is it just something that we just let move through the open cavities some people call heads and let it pass. Im not sure people actually listen to words. All we wait for is the tantalizing hook the relates to just about everybody and let it coax us into a dull void called pop.
Here is my advice, if you don’t know the name of a song that is played on the radio like 100 times a day, don’t ask the DJ if he knows it. Certainly don’t sit there and try to hum the hook of the god awful (platinum) Barbara Streisand song…(there are only two words in that shit come on)
I’m not hating because of people not knowing songs, I often have brain farts… but real talk, try harder. I know your office job is very tiring and you hate the person across the hallway and the bills are tough but just help me out and listen to the words of songs.
I will keep trying to play music to make you forget your boss and your problems.
If going downtown to listen to music isn’t your thing, then go to Lester Pearl or Kung Fu, play shuffle board and giant connect four or stay home and read a book. Don’t heckle a DJ, he/she is there to try and give you a good time… Karma is a bitch, I would love to come to your work and tell you how much you suck at what you do just because you didn’t do something that I wanted within two minutes…
DJs have hearts too and they are sensitive… hahahahhahahahaha
Not really but if you got punched in the face by some big headed blonde DJ because you were being a prick and asked to hear Stereo Love 8 times in an hour… you know why now.
You are a kick ass dj.. I don’t know how you guys put up with some of the B.S. you gotta deal with. Personally, I prefer a dj who knows good music to just do his thing. And it’s a bonus if they dance around and take off their clothes 🙂
I feel ya. Bomb post. Check out “where’s the love”, i wrote it a few months ago. I basically said the the same thing about whether or not anyone even cares any more.
