Chicken Lollipops, even now, the name makes me shudder with delight, it allows me to reminisce, to think back to a better time, when my only worry in the world was finding the waiter for a second order. Alas, at this moment I am less than myself, writing about them instead of experiencing the delectable flavor of that which is the chicken lollipop. One day I will return, but for now, woe is me. I could hear the touching words of Shakespeare, crafting poems about them, however the bard passed before he knew the simple sweet joy of the Chicken Lollipop.
“Hark, out yonder there she lies/
The sight I’ve seen thats caught mine eye/
Imperia the home of my lovely treat/
Chicken Lollipop Chicken lollipop, woe is me!/
I’d travel across the seven seas/
To sit and dine a chicken lollipop feast…”
But seriously now, what happens when you combine two of everyone’s favorites, Chicken… with Lollipops?
Perfection! If you haven’t had Chicken Lollipops you need to go… now!
Who: You
What: Chicken lollipops
Where: Imperia (310 Colorado St, Austin, TX 78701)
When: Preferably during Happy Hour (4-7) when they’re only $5!
Why: Because they are amazing! I’ll admit, I had my reservations upon ordering something called “Chicken Lollipops.” The conversation in my head went a little something like “Well, I like Chicken… and… I like Lollipops…so… maybe I’ll like Chicken Lollipops?” A lot of the time when you combine two things you like individually it can lead to a recipe for disaster; in this case, it’s a recipe for amazing.
Make sure to call ahead to ensure they’re in stock, I’ve been hurt many a time, but I keep going back… because I know chicken lollipops only mistreat me because they love me.
Hahahah you and obi love this!
They’re that good! I would take a date out there, but I’d end up leaving her for the chicken lollipops!
you should totally try the sea bass skewers and crab/avocado rangoons too!!! Good stuff 🙂
