One listen to the Dallas-based Cure of Paranoia and you’ll realize the band has “it.” A sound that’s familiar, yet intriguingly different. Lyrics that are easy to digest, yet keep you full of thought. Their soul infused hip-hop breaks free from conventional rap stylings, which is emblematic of what the band is all about. Pushing through your fears to break free from whatever holds you back.

Body Rock, the monthly dance party, spun by DJ Chorizo Funk and hosted by Riders Against the Storm, has been described by party goers as “therapy”, “church”, and “healing.” The soul enriching vibes and sweaty grooves one normally experiences will be taken up a notch with the legendary sounds of Prince. The tribute kicks off at 11:30, while Bird Peterson DJs on the outdoor patio from 10 – 1am.

This 10-piece funk band from Houston, Texas continues to turn heads and open ears. With so many members in the group, influences span the musical spectrum. Elements of ska, country, hip hop, etc. are all interwoven into a distinct sound, layered by the soaring vocals of Kam Franklin. The recent performance on The Daily Show has given them more exposure, but you can still find them performing throughout Texas.
