Here’s one that I think everybody can relate to. Have you ever walked in a bar, look around and notice “wow, there’s a lotta dudes in here!“? Or on a rare occasion, “wow, there’s a lotta chicks here!” Are you improving or worsening the guy/girl ratio? Is it to your benefit? Usually, sausage fests are not preferable. But why is that? Let’s explore this ratio issue.
- Too much testosterone to the square foot is a good recipe for fights.
- First, place a buncha dudes inside the bar, preferably in groups of 4+. For better results, pick dudes of the douchebaggery kind.
- Distribute them sporadically by the following areas: around the dancefloor, against the walls, or around a table with a bottle on it.
- Make sure they barely move. No dancing. No walking around. Just a bent arm or both holding a drink. High-Fives are allowed though.
- Add rounds of shots. Add drinks. Then add more shots. Then drinks. Then shots. Until at least 1 of our subjects feels numb.
- Decrease the amount of females present in order to create a sensation of helpnessless (or “pussylessness“) in the subjects.
- Now let it simmer for a few minutes. Sit back and watch the drama unfold for you have recreated the perfect environment for a fight.
- And TA DA! One false move, a unintentional bump, a spilled drink, a flirty attitude with the wrong girl is all it takes for hell to break loose!
- Girls don’t feel comfortable around too many guys. Have you ever seen a girl dancing by herself while 3 guys are just standing on the sidelines wondering which and how one will get to rub up on her first? Well, picture this scenario but all over the bar. For the ladies, going to the bathroom is an adventure, an expedition, a mission. They realize that they’ll have to walk past a barrage of random butt grabs and obnoxious hollering on the way to the sacred temple that is the ladies room (hopefully that’ll be the subject of another post). I guess that’s why they go in groups. Reinforcements to make sure they make it back safe and sound. If girls don’t feel safe, they simply leave thus increasing the level of pussylessness in the bar and you’re back to situation above. Then the guys leave, then the bar becomes empty so it is not making money.
- As a guy, you believe in the “why bring sand to the beach” theory. The expression makes sense but do you really need to bring your friends Bucket, Shovel, Pail and Rake to play with the sand already there? No. And no offense to my fellow black people, but you guys are the worst at this. Usually, groups of Asians, Whites, Hispanics, Indians and others have at least 1 or 2 females. Black dudes, very rarely. The concept of rolling deep is not a contest. If you believe the higher the number of dudes in your crew increases your chances at hooking up with the ladies, you just have poor logic and need to revise your approach because I’ve never seen it work (except in porn movies and those are staged).
- In the bar business, you must draw a line between risk and profit. For security reasons, it’s risky to have a lotta guys around but for profit reasons those guys will actually spend money at the bar (if the level of pussylessness is reasonable). They buy the rounds. They get a table and order bottles. In other words, they do it big and often to get increase the level of pussylessness in their immediate surroundings.
So how do you solve this issue? Well, one thing I’ve seen in lotsa cities around the world, they enforce the girl/guy ratio at the door. For instance, if I were to go out with 1 guy and 1 girl, the doorguy has the right to say “sorry but one of you fellas gotta go“. The sorting must happen at the door. I don’t think it’s discrimination, it’s just for the better because once inside you have the ideal environment: a 1 to 1 guy/girl ratio or better (as in more girls).
- Girls are happy cuz they are not hit on every 2 minutes and enjoy a safe night with their friends.
- Guys are happy cuz there’s a high level of pussylessness so a lower risk of frustation thu as lower risks of fights.
- The bar people are happy cuz people are spending money at the bar.
This is not a perfect science but at least it makes sense to me. I’ve seen it at put in place and our survey said “it works!”.
So what do you think? What is the ideal guy/girl ratio? What about the sausage fest problem? How would you solve it?[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
As far as the door guy lettn in 1 guy to one girl, that would be rough to do, guys will be let in anyway .This so called “Sausage fest” thing could be solved if some guys knew how to jus back off. You see ole girl vibin wit some dude, don’t be tryna hang around till u have a chance, just go somewhere else lol…Like ANOTHA bar or club somewhere else lol…KICK ROCKS! lol…Good shit Bak 🙂
More girls is always better (see good time criterion). It is discriminating but hey when you finally get in it’s more phun.
The 1:1 ratio is good. As long as there is atleast 1 girl to every guy, it’s hard to complain. But to be fair to the women, there do need to be enough guys to keep their interest as well.
As far as implementing the ratio, I’ve seen it in other cities, but it would be difficult to pull off in Austin where all of the bars/clubs are in such close proximity. It’s like the new club that opens up and enforces a dress code. As soon as a different place pops up and establishes itself as the new hot spot, then the dress code no longer applies because the club needs to attract more people. It’s very difficult for a place to remain the hot spot for very long in Austin and I don’t know how long a place could be successful trying to implement it.
@BryteBlaqu actually not discriminatory in a legal since. It would have to be a one sided (only not let men in at all) you can chose to manage your crowd as a private business owner (ie. I reserve the right to refuse service……) another conversation though…BAK on topic….(pun intended) the best way to manage this issue is for bars/promoters to create events and environments that are more inviting to woman all together. Musically, visually, concept, etc….All you get in Austin is generic entertainment. When I am in Atlanta, they host happy hours that 3 woman show up for every one guys – they are creative, purposeful. The result is multi faceted. Men behave differently in these environments, bars can be more stringent on dress code to keep out the youngsters who have not quite mastered being Gentlemen. The bar makes more money with its reputation for being The Spot to be in, which allows them to elevate their game (ie. Cocktails over mixed drinks – if you dont know the difference – my point exactly) There is a ripple effect in the entertainment industry when you make places safe for women to come and enjoy.
Dress Code: I love a good T Shirt – but we all know we act and feel different when we are laced with our favorite shirt, slacks and shoes. Well Dressed, Well Groomed, and Real Cologne goes a long way even when you are rolling deep….I will roll 5 Deep with my boys any day and come out on top. They know whats up.
@Iron….yes man somebody take notes!! Not legally I know. You can also work the numbers with a guest list and a cover. Shit, if you got designs on making the little A more like the big A holla at your boy.
I like words like creative and purposeful. Generic is just about dirty as words get around this bitch, but is definitely the order of the day, closely followed by redundant. I don’t know who you are but i like your style. Props for knowing what the fuck you are talking bout!
Fellas duke gets around! If you ain’t know, act like you did!
Peace
P.S. I’ve still seen some really classy shit go down sans dress code, especially in other cities.
@ Wes….Your right about proximity, hard to be the hot spot. But…you can easily be the bomb party! Nothing stops sundays at Phez or Ring the Alarm. A strong monthly and your on the map. The scene is hurting for a classy weekly too. It’s doable, but it’s like Iron said purposeful and inventive. These are the real keys!
